Another Month has passed and Father's Day is this weekend. I just discovered that I have 3 days until the corporate challenge sprint Triathlon for Hallmark. It is a good thing that I have been biking and running 2 times a week for the last 2 months. I should be fine, albeit tired. As you can see in the video above this is dean essentially sleeping while bouncing. He does this a lot and we wonder if it is his subtle way to tell mom and dad he needs a nap ;) The shop projects are coming along nicely. I just finished a mobile cabinet from the Apitong and it was a painful wood to work with. I am now begining to work from a design I had in my head for a little bit. I will be constructing a hall way bench. It is difficult to describe the design but the seat will be shaped with two indents for sitting. The top will also be slats spaced about 3/4" apart. I also intend to use a slotted dovetail to join the top to the base. I will be using the Walnut which is really turning out to be the an extremely figured wood with beautiful grain. This tree did not lead a happy life but will be loved in our home. I have never seen grain like this on any project I have seen online or in person. This bench will really be one of a kind.
Dean is sitting up, grabbing things, and generally be a loud babbler. These are all really good signs for his development and we are just enjoying our time with him. I have a few new pictures also posted if you are interested. Her is really getting heave these days at +20lbs. I am beginning to have back trouble from lifting him in and out of the car.We will keep everyone updated on his progress.
